Pure love clubbed with self-less service can cure any disease and it is the power of love which can transform any individual and most of the ailments and diseases can be cured by soothing words and showing love towards the patient. Medicines may cure the disease but extending a helping hand with a touch of love can not only cure the disease but brings a transformation in the attitude of the patient. Sri Sathya Sai Super Speciality Hospitals in India are referred as ‘Temples of Healing’ and they bring a total transformation in patients and as well as doctors who serve there.

“TRANSFORMING THROUGH MISSION OF LOVE’

…By the sheer power of selfless love

Sai Youths of Bhubaneswar, State capital of Odisha are the beacon of selfless love and they have been doing service at IDH ward (Infectious Diseases) of Capital Hospital for the past 11 years and 365 Days taking care of the helpless patients who are suffering from incurable infectious diseases. When there is no one to look after and the disease is infectious the patients are thrown to this ward. Our Sai brothers and Sisters from Sathya Sai Seva Organisation take care of these patients with love and affection round the clock. The IDH ward in Capital Hospital is popularly known as SAI WARD. “Jiska Koi Nahin Hota-Uska Sai hota hei” (the one who has no one has Sai with him) Our Sai youths also pick up helpless patients from road side and treat them here.

Approximately 5000 patients are being served every year:

Sai Youth has started this holistic healthcare movement which has today, after a decade of such selfless service, a contingent of more than 30 young and highly motivated people who have dedicated their lives to lighten the burden of these poor souls.

Working System:

Every morning there are at least six volunteers who spend a minimum of three hours caring and curing these ailing individuals. And like every Sai revolution, this project too is silent, but very potent, and remains untainted by any desire for recognition, reward or publicity. Patients from road side, destitute suffering from incurable-infectious diseases, those unwanted to society and spotted in the compassionate eyes of our Sai Youths are brought to the hospital and admitted in this ward of Infectious Disease Hospital(IDH) inside the campus of State Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Because of their helpless conditions having no attendant or any of family members, this ward is the least visited by doctors or nurses. But for Sai Youths comprising of Engineers’, Doctors, Scientists, Police & Bank professionals & leading business persons come to their rescue to become their attendant, their family members.

Daily Schedule:

Every day they start their Seva with Omkaram & end it in shanti mantram. They clean their wounds and all dress them. They take care totally like bathing, feeding, cleaning their clothes, cutting their nails, hairs etc…. and during Seva Swami’s sweet bhajans are played which inspire the youths and thrills the patients with devotion towards Swami for an early relief of their suffering. Swami’s beautiful smiling photos are fixed on the walls of IDH ward, assuring everybody has HIS presence and grace.

Result:

With selfless workers around, the destitute no longer feel ‘god-forsaken’, they are now ‘god-chosen’. However while dropping them in their houses some far and some near villages, after they recouped, they got tremendous love and affection from the villagers, families of patients. In one such village an old lady made a loving comment that “only Sathya Sai Sevadal can do this- Nobody Else, You are all true Messengers of Bhagawan and spreading HIS Love and Compassion.”
